There is another angle to the Cyprus
conflict. The Republic of Cyprus fuas issued
licenses off the southern coast of the
island, but the Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is
recognized only by Turkey, has issued
licenses not just in waters off its coasts, but
also in the south, in areas that overlap with
licenses granted by the Republic of Cyprus.
(Those licenses have all gone to TPAO, the
Turkish state petroleum company.) The
The first maritime dispute is over areas that the Turkish
Republic of Northern Cyprus has licensed off the
southern coast of Cyprus. This is not a maritime
dispute it's a dispute over Cypriot sovereignty. But as
a "territorial dispute, it's an odd one.

that tend to the south of the island all these have
